Dan + Kristi | Lubbock Maternity Photographer

Allen and I met Dan and Kristi the first time we went to our small group from church…Rogan was only a few weeks old and I sat down next to them on the couch. Dan leaned over and said “you better watch out, my wife just might start crying over that cute baby.”  Kristi was 30ish weeks along at that point I think. Weeks passed and we got to know them a little better. Allen came home one night after hanging out with several guys and said “So I’ve decided that Dan and I are going to be good friends.” (or something to that effect) Sure enough the four of us became good friends and Allen and I were so excited to have found such wonderful friends–who were also about to have a baby boy!! It was going to be perfect! And then they decided to move to San Antonio…. 🙁

Needless to say, we were very sad to see them go, but know we’ll always be friends, even after such a short while! One night while hanging out with them, I discovered that Dan was a photographer as well and I asked if they’d had any belly pictures taken. Dan had taken some of Kristi, but they didn’t have any of the two of them…so I insisted we take some before it was too late! (If you remember, I took mine the day before Rogan was born!) We spend the evening going to some of Dan’s favorite spots and shooting as the sun gave us ever-changing light…all the way to sunset! Dan reminded me so much of the way Allen acted, that I knew why Allen had come home announcing he’d found his new best friend after they’d hung out. During the whole shoot, Dan was trying to get Kristi to do anything and everything that might cause her to go into labor. And the very next morning I got a text message from Kristi that they were in the hospital and she was indeed in labor! The bun in the oven in these pics is their sweet little man, Eric, who is now 3 months old!! Yes, I’m super late in posting these pictures, but I kept forgetting that I hadn’t!! So, better late than never…meet Dan and Kristi!!
